"A democracy like ours cannot afford to throw itself open to the world.  Where every man is a lawmaker, every dull-witted or fanatical immigrant admitted to our citizenship is a bane to the commonwealth. Where all classes of society merge insensibly into one another every alien immigrant of inferior race may bring corruption to the stock."

— Francis Bellamy, author of the Pledge of Allegiance.  Wonder what his agenda was?

       The Pledge of Allegiance

The Republican’s, never wanting to be attacked for their unbridled assault on the rights of the people, their invasion and occupation of a foreign country that presented no threat to ourselves, their fascist tendencies to award government largess to a few large companies, and regulate all other companies into oblivion, their profligate spending like drunken sailors of your stolen tax dollars, while running up the deficit and claiming they are lowering your taxes.

In short, they do not want to discuss the fact that they act like Democrats.

Instead they wish you to concentrate on the incredibly important issues of homosexual Marriage, Flag Desecration and the Pledge of Allegiance.

So I will play their game, and give you my opinion on each, starting here with the Pledge of Allegiance.

I can see why this Pledge would seem increasingly important to them.  After all, if your well armed constituents are increasingly dissatisfied with your work performance, they may choose to fire you without waiting for an election you are virtually assured of winning.  Best to make sure they mindlessly recite an Allegiance to you and the government.

But isn’t it an interesting Pledge?  None of the founding fathers ever recited the Pledge of Allegiance.  Nor did the Northern soldiers of the Civil War.  Not even the military, until the 20th Century.  Why?  Because no one felt it was necessary to pledge allegiance to a flag, our nation.  Then when the Scientific Socialist movement began to take hold in the Western world just before  the beginning of the 20th Century, someone did think it necessary for the masses to recite a mindless daily pledge of allegiance to the government.

The man who wrote the Pledge in 1892 was Francis Bellamy, a National socialist and brother of author Edward Bellamy.  He intended it to be recited daily by public school children, who when they grew up would continue such recitations at their factories of work.  They did this with arm outstretched strait away from their bodies in a Nazi salute.  During WWII this became an embarrassment, and various poses were tried, until well after the war when the hand over the heart was finalized.

Don't swallow the sop of the so called patriotic Republicans.  The created the mess we find ourselves in, hand in hand with the Democrats.  Don't let them get your attention on a meaningless area like the pledge of allegiance, when so much else has gone wrong in our nation as a direct result of their efforts.
